This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance work requests within an agile development framework.
• Develop detailed test plans and test cases during project planning phases.
• Provide precise estimates regarding the effort and duration of QA activities.
• Create and sustain automated tests to verify pipeline requirements.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for automated validation processes.
• Construct regression suites for essential datasets and dashboards.
• Generate and maintain deterministic test datasets along with "golden" expected outcomes.
• Assist in verifying and replicating data issues reported by users.
• Submit thorough and actionable defect reports.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot defects effectively.
• Continuously enhance QA processes, frameworks, and tools for data testing and validation.
• Integrate test automation with deployment and workflow tracking systems.
• Schedule and manage automated test executions, ensuring proper execution.
• Implement data observability checks and alert systems.
• Gather, consolidate, and analyze results from tests and monitoring activities.
• Define and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure test effectiveness.
• Manage and prioritize tasks using the ticketing system.
• Conduct code reviews for test scripts and SQL validation logic.
• Partner with Data Engineering and BI stakeholders.
• Contribute to the technical documentation of processes, tools, workflows, and standards.
• Mentor fellow team members by sharing knowledge, conducting training sessions, and offering guidance on best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in writing automated QA tests, particularly for back-end systems without a user interface.
• Expert proficiency in relevant languages, including SQL, Python, JavaScript, and/or C#.
• In-depth knowledge of test automation tools such as Cypress and Great Expectations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities coupled with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
• Knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
