This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• You will be responsible for the systems that every team at Phaidra relies on for data ingestion, storage, serving, and orchestration.
• Create and develop scalable components for the data platform that facilitate high-throughput data ingestion and processing.
• Design and construct systems to store and serve batch data for analytical purposes.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of API services and scalable event-driven applications that support the product backend.
• Create clear and extensible software interfaces for internal users while maintaining a high standard for release quality.
• Design and enhance data storage and retrieval methods to ensure high throughput, security, and user-friendly access.
• Take ownership and manage your services in production, including releases, deployments, and on-call rotations, adhering to Phaidra's stringent standards for operational excellence.
• Lead cross-functional projects by collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPMs across various teams.
• Guide your colleagues and serve as a technical mentor within the team.
• Over 7 years of software engineering experience, with substantial focus on distributed or data-intensive systems.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing distributed systems for data ingestion, storage, and processing.
• Proven skill in building, operating, and monitoring large-scale multi-tenant systems while ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Capability to take ownership of real-time production systems, aligning technical aspects with business needs, and enhancing operational excellence and incident management.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fully remote environment.

• Familiarity with the latest batch and real-time data processing, storage, and service technologies, such as Apache Flink.
