Senior Data Modeler, Snowflake

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design and develop physical data models in Snowflake, prioritizing scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Convert conceptual and logical models into schemas, tables, and views compatible with Snowflake.

• Partner with data engineers to enhance ETL/ELT processes and data integration methodologies.

• Ensure alignment of models and metadata with governance standards and tools, such as Collibra.

• Maintain thorough documentation of all modeling and transformation logic for traceability and compliance purposes.

• Assist in the performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines.

• Operate within a distributed, global setting alongside both technical and business stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in a Data Modeler role or a similar position.

• Demonstrated expertise in physical data modeling within Snowflake and proficiency in SQL.

• Knowledge of data integration and ETL/ELT concepts; familiarity with tools such as dbt, Matillion, or Fivetran is advantageous.

• Experience with metadata and data governance platforms, preferably Collibra.

• Basic understanding of AWS services, especially S3, is beneficial.

• Strong knowledge of best practices in data modeling (e.g., star schema, normalization, data vault).

• Capability to work independently in a remote, cross-functional setting.

• Exceptional communication and documentation abilities.

• Preferred: Background in pharmaceutical/life sciences data and familiarity with regulatory frameworks.

• Knowledge of data quality tools such as Ataccama is a plus.
