This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Operationalize data collection tools for research and evaluation surveys into scalable, accurate, consistent, and user-friendly instruments using our Qualtrics platform.

• Implement and sustain user access to safeguard data privacy and ensure minimum necessary access to uphold data integrity in partnership with technology and product teams.

• Identify and execute solutions to convert hard copy surveys into Qualtrics software while maintaining the intended meaning, logic, and Institutional Review Board requirements.

• Create and manage adaptable Qualtrics libraries that ensure consistency in data collection across survey tools while establishing processes for version control.

• Conduct thorough quality assurance procedures to guarantee that surveys are deployed accurately and consistently to partners.

• Proactively identify and resolve issues within the Qualtrics system, including addressing inquiries from partners across JED to resolve any identified concerns.

• Collaborate with colleagues in the communications and product teams to ensure that all Qualtrics survey tools are accessible and comply with ADA standards for all users.

• Develop and maintain documentation related to Qualtrics research and evaluation data infrastructure, encompassing library infrastructure, key decision points, bugs affecting data quality, and user access protocols.

• Perform routine data management tasks to monitor the quality of JED’s data while identifying ongoing opportunities for enhancement.

• Utilize Qualtrics and JED’s data warehouse infrastructure to create regular reports for essential data elements and establish feedback loops with partners to enhance data quality.

• Oversee the daily development and execution of data management best practices (e.g., data user and management documentation, survey version crosswalks, and codebooks).

• Collaborate with Research and Evaluation team members to ensure that identified coding practices are implemented within the data, accompanied by regular quality checks.

• Conduct periodic data quality audits and suggest quality improvement strategies.

• Generate and implement regular data cleaning protocols in partnership with the Senior Analytics Specialist.

• Identify opportunities within data sets to optimize data collection, including reducing redundancies across systems, in collaboration with JED partners.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable data protection regulations and ethical standards.

• Develop and enforce policies to uphold the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.

• Stay informed about best practices in data collection and management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in quantitative behavioral sciences, statistics, public health, or a related field, with significant training and experience in data collection and management.

• Extensive expertise in operationalizing scalable data collection tools in research and evaluation contexts, with experience in library management, user access navigation, and implementing quality assurance processes. Experience with Qualtrics is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience managing multi-method research and evaluation data, with the ability to handle multiple data collection initiatives simultaneously.

• Strong background in developing and sustaining data management processes and user documentation in research and evaluation settings, including the creation of codebooks, survey crosswalks, and recommending and implementing coding practices.

• Exceptional quantitative data management skills, including experience in developing data quality reports and quality improvement processes, data cleaning, and proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, Python) for data management.

• Knowledge of data protection regulations and ethical standards, including experience ensuring that data collection adheres to Institutional Review Board compliance.

• Experience or interest in learning about modern data warehouse infrastructure, such as Snowflake.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities; meticulous attention to detail is essential.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with program staff, partners, and other stakeholders.
