This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Create and implement frameworks and policies for data governance.
• Develop and sustain data dictionaries, catalogs, and processes for metadata management.
• Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal standards in data management processes.
• Oversee data quality and integrity across various applications and business operations.
• Work alongside data stewards and stakeholders to address data quality challenges.
• Perform root cause analyses on data discrepancies and suggest solutions.
• Serve as a liaison between business units and the Chief Data Office regarding data management goals.
• Assist data stewards in establishing data ownership and accountability.
• Offer training and guidance on best practices in data governance.
• Facilitate external audits and evaluations concerning data-related risks and compliance with regulations.
• Set up controls and monitoring systems to mitigate data-related risks.
• Document and report on data governance activities, risks, and compliance statuses.
• Produce reports on metrics related to data governance, including data quality KPIs, adherence to policies, and issue resolution.
• Formulate action plans aimed at enhancing data quality.
• Create dashboards to monitor and communicate the progress of data governance to leadership.
• Propose improvements to data governance policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and regulations pertaining to data governance and privacy.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• At least seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in data governance, data management, or a related area.
• Strong grasp of data governance principles, practices, and technologies.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to effectively engage with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Snowflake, and data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation is advantageous.
• Certification in data governance, data management, or cloud computing is preferred.
• Proficient in SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau or Sigma.
• Familiar with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
