This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders, the Data Governance Council, data domain owners, and technical teams to gather, document, and prioritize data governance requirements across enterprise data domains.
β’ Organize data governance workshops and working sessions to establish business definitions, data standards, business rules, data definitions, and domain onboarding plans.
β’ Analyze data and assess source systems and data structures to evaluate content, quality, and structure, aiding in the accurate mapping and migration of master data and data hub models.
β’ Create detailed data mapping documents that include source-to-target specifications and transformation logic.
β’ Collaborate with Master Data Management (MDM), integration, and platform teams to validate source-to-target mappings, ensuring alignment with approved business definitions, data standards, and governance policies.
β’ Aid in identifying data quality issues and contribute to the documentation of metadata and lineage.
β’ Develop and maintain data catalogs to guarantee consistent documentation, easy discovery, and effective management of enterprise data assets.
β’ Work with platform subject matter experts (SMEs) to confirm data mapping requirements and facilitate successful implementation within MDM, data hub, and integration platforms.
β’ Monitor mapping progress, dependencies, and issues across teams and tools, providing timely updates and resolving any blockers.
β’ Partner with business stakeholders and project teams to grasp data requirements for HR, Finance, Legal, and Professional Services functions.
β’ Review and document existing data sources, structures, and business rules within legacy systems.
β’ Prepare data mapping specifications to ensure accurate migration to new systems.
β’ Assist with the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data, including profiling, cleansing, and validating migrated data.
β’ Conduct data quality assessments and implement validation processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
β’ Help design and test data integrations between new enterprise platforms and other business applications.
β’ Generate and maintain thorough documentation of data models, flows, and transformation rules.
β’ Identify and address data-related issues during migration and after implementation.
β’ Provide regular updates and insights to project leaders and stakeholders regarding data migration progress and potential risks.
β’ Support ongoing data governance and quality initiatives as new systems are integrated.
β’ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
β’ 7-9 years of experience in a data governance, data analysis, or data management role, ideally supporting large-scale system implementations or migrations.
β’ Extensive experience with data analysis, data profiling, data mapping, and ETL processes.
β’ Proven experience collaborating with Data Governance Councils, Data Stewardship teams, or similar governance bodies to define and implement data governance requirements.
β’ Strong skills in gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into actionable data governance, data quality, and data management solutions.
β’ Demonstrated experience in conducting business and data analysis activities, including requirements elicitation, stakeholder interviews, process analysis, and documentation.
β’ Experience in analyzing enterprise data domains and business processes to identify governance opportunities, define policies, and enhance data quality and consistency.
β’ Proficiency in SQL, Python, and experience with relational databases.
β’ Excellent analytical abilities to interpret and transform business requirements into technical specifications.
β’ Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
β’ Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to facilitate workshops and collaborate across both business and technical teams.
