This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Design, create, and enhance scalable data solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and contemporary cloud data platform technologies.
• Collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders to collect requirements and convert them into technical designs, data models, and implementation strategies.
• Develop and sustain Fabric Data Factory pipelines, dataflows, notebooks, and orchestration processes to ensure reliable data ingestion and transformation.
• Construct and maintain Lakehouse architectures utilizing Bronze, Silver, and Gold (Medallion) layers to enhance data quality, governance, and readiness for analytics.
• Create ELT/ETL solutions with SQL, PySpark, Python, and Fabric notebooks to transform and enrich enterprise data.
• Design and optimize data models that support reporting, self-service analytics, AI, and machine learning initiatives.
• Assist with the migration of legacy data platforms, on-premises databases, and third-party systems into Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
• Implement practices for data quality, monitoring, security, and governance that adhere to enterprise standards.
• Engage in strategic technical discussions, architecture, design, and the delivery of comprehensive digital transformation.
• Take part in senior-level technology decision-making related to agility, business value, data warehousing, and cloud-based data solutions.
• More than 2 years of experience in designing and delivering modern data solutions on Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience in developing and supporting Microsoft Fabric workloads including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks, or Real-Time Analytics.
• Familiarity with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and current best practices in data engineering.
• Proficiency in building ELT/ETL pipelines using SQL, Python, PySpark, Data Factory, or other similar cloud-native technologies.
• Strong SQL development expertise, including stored procedures, data transformation logic, and performance tuning.
• Understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, Data Vault, and various analytical data modeling methods.
• Capability to gather business requirements and translate them into source-to-target mappings, data models, and technical solutions.
• Experience in developing semantic models, reports, and dashboards utilizing Power BI.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, security, and performance considerations within cloud data platforms.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with OneLake, shortcuts, semantic models, and Fabric-native architectural patterns.
• Experience in supporting AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics workloads.
• Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and associated Azure data services.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
