Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create effective architectural recommendations, secure buy-in, and implement them consistently.

• Enhance, supervise, and mentor on standards for code and infrastructure maintainability and performance through documentation and peer reviews.

• Work collaboratively with analytics, business intelligence, finance, sales, marketing, product teams, and other stakeholders to ascertain business data requirements.

• Develop data processes that facilitate superior products and aid in growth-oriented decision-making.

• Advocate for data governance within engineering workflows.

• Advance and expand the data platform to support business growth and stability.

• Address the organization’s most challenging and critical technical issues.

• Swiftly diagnose intricate problems, align solutions with a variety of stakeholders, and deliver high-quality data solutions.

• Maintain a balance between rapid delivery and high-quality data outputs.

• Report directly to an Engineering Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software/data engineering.

• Proficient in hands-on Python and SQL.

• Proven track record of ownership in high-stakes scenarios, urgency, and the rapid integration of new technologies to achieve measurable business results.

• Experience in designing and implementing logical, well-architected solutions for complex, large-scale data engineering challenges.

• Extensive experience in database design, data warehouse modeling, and the development of distributed systems.

• Ability to convey intricate technical details and complex requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with predictive modeling and machine learning is highly advantageous.
