Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Create and develop ingestion pipelines for high-volume payment data (Stripe, PayPal, Solidgate), marketing analytics (GA4, GTM, Google Ads, Amplitude), and operational databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL).

• Establish the data infrastructure for a Lakehouse utilizing AWS and GCP.

• Construct medallion-layer transformation models (Bronze → Silver → Gold) in dbt, incorporating payments and marketing data on BigQuery.

• Manage orchestration end-to-end in Airflow, including lineage, sensors, backfills, retries, and alerting across the entire asset graph.

• Apply infrastructure as code best practices, cost controls, and more.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in building production data platforms and pipelines from scratch.

• Extensive knowledge of Airflow, particularly with lineage, backfill, and retry strategies.

• Practical experience with dbt and version-controlled transformations.

• Proficient in AWS and GCP, with experience in Terraform for infrastructure as code and a focus on cost management (FinOps).

• Excellent written communication skills and the capability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.

• Understanding of data mesh principles, domain ownership, or data product design.

• Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture and Starburst Galaxy.
