Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute essential data models for users, events, and performance metrics.

• Design and manage robust, production-level data pipelines.

• Create a unified source of truth for critical business and product metrics.

• Organize data for retention, funnel analysis, activation, and various business and product evaluations.

• Construct and deploy data services and jobs on AWS, utilizing S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Glue, Athena, and Redshift.

• Make informed decisions regarding data storage, processing, and access strategies.

• Assess and implement tools like BigQuery, Snowflake, and Databricks when beneficial.

• Ensure architecture is scalable with product, AI, and data expansion while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

• Enhance pipelines for scalability, cost effectiveness, and performance optimization.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-organized Python code adhering to software engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, AI, and Business teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7+ years of professional experience in data-intensive roles (data engineering, ML engineering, or related fields).

• Strong programming proficiency in Python, including clean architecture, testing, and modular design principles.

• Solid SQL expertise and experience in designing analytical schemas.

• Practical experience in building production data pipelines and services.

• Extensive experience with AWS and cloud-native data architectures.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and deployment processes.

• Comfort in working with imperfect, real-world data and adapting to evolving requirements.

• Experience in dynamic or early-stage work environments.

• Excellent English communication skills.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional and international teams.
