Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, model, and sustain intricate data structures utilizing MS SQL Server and MongoDB.

• Address and rectify data quality challenges.

• Compose complex queries and create stored procedures.

• Carry out indexing and enhance query performance.

• Implement automated pipeline deployments and transition schemas into production environments.

• Utilize agile methodologies and principles of continuous delivery.

• Construct and oversee secure, high-performance data pipelines and APIs using REST and JSON.

• Lead testing strategies and automation initiatives.

• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot software products in production.

• Collaborate with diverse teams on projects for international clients.

• Engage in ceremonies, stand-ups, and collaborative meetings that are synchronized with Central Time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

• At least 5+ years of experience in delivering production solutions.

• A minimum of 5+ years in Data Science or Data Engineering roles.

• Extensive production experience with MS SQL Server, covering schema design, complex query creation, stored procedure development, indexing, and query performance enhancement.

• Proficient hands-on experience with MongoDB, including document modeling and integrating NoSQL systems with relational databases.

• Experience in modeling data across various systems, analyzing schemas, and fixing data quality issues.

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub and automated pipeline deployment processes.

• Knowledgeable in database modeling, pipelines, and APIs, with a focus on security, testing, performance, JSON, and REST.

• A strong enthusiasm for shipping and maintaining production-level software products.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective technical collaboration and documentation.

• Proficient in English.

• Consistent overlap with Central Time (CT) and availability during standard Austin business hours.

• Preferred: experience with Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric.

• Preferred: working proficiency in Python.

• Preferred: background in data quality frameworks, test strategy, and test automation methodologies.
