Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Create data solutions for a diverse range of clients to solve specific business challenges.

• Provide guidance to clients on building and enhancing contemporary data platforms, primarily utilizing Databricks.

• Develop scalable data models and pipelines that adhere to industry best practices.

• Automate and streamline existing data pipelines employing CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.

• Address a variety of challenges, from facilitating client workshops to engaging in detailed coding sessions.

• Take on subject-matter expertise and lead components of projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with data platforms, data lakehouses, or data warehouses.

• Strong proficiency in designing and implementing cloud data platforms, ideally Databricks on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Solid understanding of SQL and Python.

• Eagerness to advise clients on both business and technical matters and to create sustainable solutions.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to secure support from clients, stakeholders, and team members for innovative ideas.

• Commitment to sharing knowledge with peers and to ongoing professional and technological development.

• Readiness to travel occasionally in relation to client projects.

• Proficient communication skills in German (C2) and English (C1), with the capability to convey technical concepts effectively to various audiences.

• Preferably, experience with modern orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform).

• Ideally, possess Databricks certifications or equivalent cloud or data platform certifications.

• Ideally, familiarity with streaming, machine learning, AI, or BI and CPM systems.

• Ideally, knowledge of Data Vault, dimensional modeling, or 3NF.

• Ideally, experience with Databricks Genie.
