Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, execution, and enhancement of data historian solutions.

• Spearhead initiatives to integrate historian systems with various control systems and external applications.

• Perform performance assessments and implement strategies for ongoing improvements.

• Create and configure intricate data tags to satisfy specific project needs.

• Build custom interfaces and connectors to improve data integration capabilities.

• Establish and enforce advanced security protocols to safeguard historical data.

• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations, taking a leading role in audits and assessments.

• Investigate and resolve intricate issues pertaining to data collection, storage, and retrieval.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.

• Keep thorough documentation for configurations, installations, and troubleshooting processes.

• Adhere to Deep Digital's Quality Management System requirements and maintain necessary documentation, forms, and records.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of data integration and historian systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of practical experience in design, implementation, and leadership in projects.

• Familiarity with AVEVA PI, AspenTech IP.21, AspenTech Inmation, Inductive Automation Ignition, and PTC Kepware.

• Comprehensive understanding of data integration and historian system architecture and components.

• Strong knowledge of industrial processes and automation systems.

• Expertise in data contextualization, visualization, and reporting platforms.

• Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation tasks.

• Previous experience in mentoring and guiding a technical team.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

• Authorization to work in Ireland.
