This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct the entire data engineering function and establish strategic priorities that align with the goals of the organization.
• Develop long-term operational strategies for enterprise data platforms, pipelines, tools, governance, and the transition to scalable data solutions.
• Supervise the design, development, performance, reliability, and availability of ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Spearhead the creation of governed, documented, and AI-ready data assets for analytics, certified reporting, self-service BI, and informed business decisions.
• Collaborate with IT, business leaders, BI teams, analysts, and data stewards to outline requirements, align metric definitions, and enhance governance.
• Set and uphold engineering standards, documentation practices, quality controls, and data lifecycle processes.
• Oversee departmental budgets, staffing plans, priorities, and resource distribution.
• Build, lead, and nurture a high-performing data engineering team, which includes hiring, coaching, performance management, corrective actions, and talent development.
• Convey technical and data concepts to senior leaders, business stakeholders, and technical teams effectively.
• Convert business requirements and segment strategy into governed data products and actionable plans.
• Over 12 years of relevant experience, including managerial responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Extensive knowledge of data engineering practices, such as ETL/ELT pipelines, extraction layers, data cleansing, enrichment, performance optimization, and platform scalability.
• Strong grasp of modern data architecture, including landing zones, cloud-based data platforms, analytics layers, reporting layers, data warehouses, data lakes, and AI-ready data assets.
• Proven ability to collaborate with IT, Operations, Commercial, Finance, corporate teams, BI engineers, analysts, and data stewards.
• Familiarity with GCP/BigQuery, OneLook, Power BI, FasTrac, OTM, Oracle, Salesforce, Dayforce, EPC, INVDB, YMS, SLOF, and SLEF.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Knowledge of Git-based development, CI/CD, documentation standards, dbt or similar transformation frameworks, Databricks or comparable data processing platforms, and governed data lifecycle management.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
