Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Development and execution of comprehensive ETL/ELT pipelines — from data ingestion to deliverable data products

• Dimensional modeling (star schema / Kimball) for both core and gold layers

• Proactive participation in the transition from Azure Data Factory to Apache Airflow

• Creation and improvement of dbt models for the Gold layer

• Integration of data quality testing, monitoring, and software engineering standards

⛳️ Requirements

• Multiple years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer within an enterprise setting

• Over 3 years of hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and dbt in a production environment

• Strong expertise in SQL Server / Azure (preferably Dedicated SQL Pool / Synapse)

• Extensive experience in ETL processes, orchestration, monitoring, and troubleshooting

• Familiarity with data quality testing (dbt tests, Great Expectations or similar tools)

• Proficient use of Git and adherence to engineering best practices; initial practical experience with coding agents is advantageous

• Proficient in German (minimum C1 level) and fluent in English
