This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• The Senior Data Engineer is a proficient technical expert responsible for creating, enhancing, and modernizing data pipelines, data platforms, and analytics infrastructure for enterprise clients.
• You will engage throughout the entire data engineering lifecycle—from data ingestion and transformation to platform implementation and analytics support.
• You possess a clear understanding of the distinction between functional code and code that performs reliably in production under actual client scenarios.
• Participate in solution design discussions with architects—offering an engineering perspective on feasibility, complexity, and implementation trade-offs.
• Assist in defining data pipeline patterns, platform configurations, and engineering standards for the engagement.
• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, including military experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering or roles focused on cloud data platform development.
• More than 6 years of advanced SQL expertise across diverse database environments and data modeling patterns.
• Practical experience in developing on contemporary cloud data platforms—such as Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable platforms; with production-grade implementation experience, not merely familiarity.
• Proficiency with cloud data stacks on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP (e.g., EMR, Redshift, Glue, Kinesis/Kafka, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, BigQuery, Dataproc).
• Significant experience in constructing data pipelines using Spark; with proficiency in Python and/or Scala.
• Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, or similar tools).
• Understanding of lakehouse architectures, data mesh/fabric patterns, and contemporary data modeling techniques.
• Exposure to AI-ready data engineering—creating pipelines and data foundations that support Generative AI, Agentic AI, and machine learning workloads.
• Excellent communication skills; capable of collaborating with both technical teams and business stakeholders during client engagements.
