Director – Data Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Act as the executive-level technical leader and primary consultant for strategic customer accounts.

• Function as a Chief Technology Officer for your accounts, steering technology decisions, roadmaps, architecture, and platform maturity.

• Establish strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders, fostering consensus on solutions.

• Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Innovation Days, roadmap presentations, and architectural vision sessions.

• Provide clear recommendations, success criteria, and measurement frameworks for each engagement.

• Navigate complex or ambiguous problem areas, offering clarity, direction, and momentum.

• Work closely with Account Executives to develop and implement growth strategies.

• Identify new opportunities for phData services and lead scoping, pricing, and proposal creation.

• Influence buying centers, cultivate executive relationships, and craft value-based narratives for expansion.

• Gain a deep understanding of customer needs and industry trends, positioning phData offerings accordingly.

• Promote strategic alignment between customers, partners (e.g., Snowflake), and internal teams.

• Ensure successful delivery and overall satisfaction across all projects within assigned accounts.

• Maintain delivery quality through mentorship, leadership, and hands-on involvement as necessary.

• Provide architectural oversight, manage escalations, and ensure alignment across teams.

• Create technical documentation, vision statements, solution architectures, and proofs of concept.

• Foster accountability across internal and client teams through strategic and transparent communication.

• Lead the enablement and education of delivery teams via documentation, onboarding support, and cross-training sessions.

• Mentor technical consultants and engineers throughout the delivery organization.

• Develop and enhance technical and communication skills across teams to elevate delivery maturity.

• Identify and disseminate delivery patterns that promote scalable, repeatable customer success.

• Actively engage in phData’s internal initiatives and communities of practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of hands-on experience delivering complex data or AI/ML platforms in production settings.

• At least 3 years in a consulting leadership role with direct client management and revenue responsibility.

• Extensive technical knowledge of cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP), modern data stacks, and MLOps tools.

• Proven track record of growing enterprise accounts and establishing executive-level relationships.

• Strong architectural and implementation expertise in Python, SQL, dbt, and contemporary infrastructure tools.

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a strong presence and clarity under pressure.

• Willingness to travel for client meetings, QBRs, and significant events.
