This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Act as the main subject matter authority on data center products and their usage in critical mission data center settings.
• Oversee Application Engineers providing technical support to field service teams.
• Guide mobile data center service engineers and offer support for nationwide data center installations and startups.
• Collaborate with product development on new HVAC data center solutions and ensuring field readiness.
• Recognize technical deficiencies and assist in the creation and delivery of training programs.
• Offer advanced troubleshooting and technical escalation assistance to field teams.
• Convey field insights to Quality, pinpoint product or performance challenges, and facilitate root-cause analysis.
• Travel to assist with field deployments, product trials, and customer interactions.
• Utilize expertise in advanced refrigeration, air conditioning, and magnetic bearing technology for equipment design, commissioning, and operation.
• Produce engineering documentation, technical bulletins, diagnostic procedures, and best practices.
• Work with commercial and sales teams to ensure technical viability aligns with customer design specifications.
• Proven technical proficiency in refrigeration and HVAC systems utilized in data center environments.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in product support and technical services.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with magnetic bearing chiller technology and advanced refrigeration systems.
• Established leadership skills in guiding technical teams.
• Excellent communication abilities for interacting with engineering personnel, field service teams, and clients.
• Capability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and performance metrics and convert them into actionable directives.
• Experience in supporting a matrixed organization spanning engineering, quality, training, and commercial functions.
• Familiarity with new product introductions, commissioning, or initial product support.
• Understanding of control systems, diagnostics, thermodynamics, and HVAC/chiller commissioning procedures.
• Acquaintance with field engineering support processes, testing methodologies, and customer technical requirements.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-critical technical setting.
• Knowledge of field service processes and customer support strategies.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
