This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Act as the main subject matter expert on data center products and their use in mission-critical data center settings.
• Manage a team of Application Engineers providing technical support to field service personnel.
• Oversee mobile data center service engineers and assist with nationwide data center installations and startups.
• Collaborate with product development on new HVAC data center solutions and ensure field readiness.
• Recognize technical deficiencies and assist in the development and delivery of training programs.
• Offer advanced troubleshooting and technical escalation support to field teams.
• Work with Quality to communicate field feedback, pinpoint product or performance issues, and facilitate root cause analysis.
• Travel to assist with field deployments, product trials, and customer interactions.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning, and magnetic bearing technology in equipment design, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
• Create engineering documentation, technical bulletins, diagnostic procedures, and best practices.
• Partner with commercial and sales teams to ensure technical feasibility aligns with customer design needs.
• Proven technical expertise in refrigeration and HVAC systems as applied to data center environments.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in product support and technical service.
• At least 5 years of experience with magnetic bearing chiller technology and advanced refrigeration systems.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in guiding technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with engineering personnel, field service teams, and customers.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and performance data, translating them into actionable guidance.
• Experience supporting a matrixed organization encompassing engineering, quality, training, and commercial functions.
• Background in new product introduction, commissioning, or early-stage product support.
• Knowledge of control systems, diagnostics, thermodynamics, and HVAC/chiller commissioning procedures.
• Acquainted with field engineering support processes, testing methods, and customer technical requirements.
• Capacity to excel in a dynamic, mission-critical technical atmosphere.
• Understanding of field service processes and customer support strategies.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
