Senior Data Center Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Implementing, maintaining, and expanding DigitalOcean’s data center infrastructure.

• Installing, configuring, and connecting servers, power distribution units (PDUs), and network switches.

• Assisting with new data center projects and expansions through effective rack layout planning.

• Engaging in an on-call rotation to ensure infrastructure availability.

• Guiding junior engineers and playing a role in team development.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-8+ years of experience in deploying, operating, or supporting infrastructure in large-scale data center or cloud settings.

• In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including computing, networking, and storage systems.

• Proficient understanding of power and cooling architecture in data centers.

• Experience in deploying and troubleshooting GPU hardware and high-density compute setups.

• Strong Linux expertise and command line proficiency; familiarity with bash scripting is a plus.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across hardware, networking, and operating systems.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (20–25%).
