Senior Data Architect – Governance, FinOps, Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• As the technical steward of our data platform, your responsibilities will revolve around three key strategic areas:

• Data Governance: Organize catalogs, data lineage, and metadata management to ensure that all data sharing is auditable and standardized in adherence to a SOX environment.

• Active FinOps: Oversee, assess, and implement cost optimization strategies across the entire cloud ecosystem, encompassing Databricks compute, Microsoft Fabric features, storage, and ADF.

• Layered Security: Establish and administer access control policies (RBAC and ABAC), encryption, and network security (VNets, Private Links) from storage to consumption, addressing both cloud and on-premises settings.

• Architectural Evolution: Design and enhance the integration between the modern cloud platform and legacy systems while managing data consumption through Direct Lake.

• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Clearly document architectural decisions to ensure technical alignment and governance for a team comprising 40 individuals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in Azure: Comprehensive knowledge of the Azure cloud ecosystem, including Azure Data Factory, Storage, Resource Groups, and networking.

• Experience with Databricks: Practical experience with Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric: Experience with Fabric and Direct Lake, even if recent.

• Hybrid Architecture: Understanding of environments that combine cloud and on-premises systems (experience with SQL Server, SSAS, or similar is advantageous).

• Security and Governance: Practical knowledge of cloud security measures (access controls, LGPD).

• Compliance: Awareness or prior experience in environments subject to SOX or ITGC compliance.

• Language: Proficient in technical English for reading and documentation purposes.
