Senior Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the Finance and Payments teams to create, enhance, and sustain the metrics, models, and dashboards that support Jane’s financial reporting.

• Take ownership of the entire analysis process: from comprehending business queries → developing SQL/dbt models → constructing Looker dashboards → effectively communicating insights to stakeholders.

• Design and improve Looker dashboards to facilitate financial planning, revenue assessment, cost analysis, and transaction-level reporting.

• Keep core financial data models in dbt updated and evolving.

• Diagnose data quality problems, verify calculations, and ensure reliable, reconciled datasets that the Finance and Payments teams can depend on.

• Navigate ambiguous requirements, identify gaps, pose pertinent questions, and convert business needs into precise technical solutions.

• Assist in the modernization of our data architecture by implementing best practices in modeling, documentation, QA, and performance optimization.

• Partner with cross-functional teams across Product, Support, and Marketing when financial data is relevant or required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or BI Analyst in a fast-paced or intricate product setting.

• Proficient hands-on experience with SQL, dbt, and Looker, capable of crafting complex queries, modeling data, and creating insightful dashboards.

• Strong communication skills, able to clarify technical subjects and financial concepts to audiences without a technical background.

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership, work autonomously, and lead projects from initial concept to final delivery.

• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding reconciliation, financial logic, metric definitions, and quality assurance.

• Experience collaborating with stakeholders in Finance (FP&A, Accounting, Payments, Revenue Operations).

• Familiarity with GitHub/version control.
