This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the reconciliation framework. Design and create the data infrastructure that aligns transactions across internal systems (such as operations and ledgers) and external partners (including ACH networks, banking rails, and payment processors), ensuring that every dollar received equals every dollar spent.

• Spearhead anomaly detection and rule creation. Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of anomaly detection rules, addressing timing differences, partial matches, unexpected delays, and genuine errors, while evolving these rules over time as machine learning signals mature.

• Implement AI-driven matching. Utilize probabilistic and fuzzy matching methodologies to automatically resolve ambiguous or near-matching transactions, thereby diminishing manual review workloads and enhancing straight-through processing rates.

• Identify and manage unmatched records. Construct real-time and batch pipelines that highlight unmatched, delayed, or anomalous transactions for the appropriate stakeholders, providing sufficient context for swift resolution.

• Collaborate cross-functionally as the technical lead. Act as the primary data liaison for Engineering (focusing on system integration and pipeline reliability), Finance/Accounting (assisting with period-end close and audit support), and Recon Operations (enhancing workflow tools and managing exceptions).

• Set data quality benchmarks. Develop validation frameworks that differentiate between expected timing delays and actual discrepancies, and document data agreements between upstream systems.

• Promote automation and process enhancement. Identify and eliminate manual reconciliation tasks through scalable pipelines, alert systems, and self-service tools for operational teams.

• Foster team development. Share best practices in reconciliation and data quality, mentor analysts, and contribute to establishing this function as a fundamental capability within the Analytics organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or financial data roles, ideally with direct involvement in reconciliation, settlements, or financial operations.

• Proficient in SQL with strong Python skills (such as pandas, PySpark, or similar); experience with DBT is advantageous.

• Practical experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks, including pipeline development, scheduling, and data modeling.

• Knowledge of ACH transaction cycles, payment rails, or financial settlement processes, with an understanding of the reasons behind timing differences and how to account for them.

• Experience in creating anomaly detection logic, whether through rule-based, statistical, or machine learning approaches.

• Familiarity with probabilistic/fuzzy matching techniques for entity resolution or transaction matching.

• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, capable of translating data quality issues into clear terms for Finance partners and technical specifications for Engineers.

• Practical knowledge of AI/ML, encompassing supervised and unsupervised methods relevant to reconciliation, including anomaly detection (isolation forest, autoencoders), clustering for transaction grouping, and classification models for match/no-match decisions.

• Experience utilizing LLMs or AI-assisted tools (e.g., prompt engineering, LLM-based data extraction, or AI-enhanced workflow automation) to expedite analysis and minimize manual review.

• Background in fintech or financial services is highly preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in a field that necessitates analytical or structured thinking (such as STEM, Economics, or Finance); a Master's degree is preferred.

🏝️ Benefits

• Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance plans

• Generous paid parental and caregiver leave

• 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions

• Flexible PTO and generous company holidays, including Juneteenth and Winter Break

• Opportunity to tackle challenging problems, learn and grow alongside top talent, and assist millions in achieving their personal financial objectives
