This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Conduct chromosome analysis, including imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic samples.
• Evaluate test requisitions to collect relevant information for analysis.
• Summarize test findings using ISCN nomenclature.
• Differentiate between normal and abnormal test outcomes.
• Exhibit the capability to make technical decisions regarding testing and troubleshooting.
• Report precise and prompt test results to ensure quality patient care.
• Execute and assess troubleshooting while documenting all corrective measures as necessary.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in Oncology Cytogenetics (preferred).
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in cytogenetic analysis (preferred).
• Certification by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG).
• ASCP Certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG).
• Experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads through computerized imaging.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations along with policies and procedures.
• Experience in a high-volume laboratory setting.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Proficient in computer usage and familiar with laboratory information systems.
• Strong attention to detail, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Capability to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Must be able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
