This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• You will take charge of the operational efficiency of one or two engineering domains, spearhead cross-team projects that involve various control areas, and create the frameworks that the team will follow.
• You are the engineer capable of transitioning a tool from “purchased” to “deployed, optimized, and monitored,” the go-to partner for Cloud Ops and Identity when they require effective security patterns, and the mentor who elevates Mid and Associate engineers through collaboration, code reviews, and established standards.
• Additionally, you will serve as a senior voice in architectural discussions and decision-making alongside the Principal Engineer and the Manager.
• Drive initiatives across Security, IT, Identity, Cloud Operations, and delivery teams — including controlled rollouts, control set enhancements, and tool migrations. Successfully implement these initiatives without disrupting production.
• Create new control patterns and reference architectures. Document the decision records, runbooks, and standards that the team adheres to and that auditors evaluate.
• Oversee the complete deployment of new control sets (e.g., activating a new EDR, securing a new cloud account, establishing new logging pipelines) — conduct pilots, measure results, expand implementation, and document the process.
• Collaborate with Mid and Associate engineers, facilitate design reviews, provide thorough code/configuration reviews, and nurture the next level of engineering talent. Ensuring quality output from less experienced engineers is part of your responsibilities.
• Act as the senior liaison for Cloud Ops, Identity, IT Service Management, GRC, and the SOC when they seek security engineering insights. Collaboratively solve problems with them.
• Generate control evidence and architectural documentation that withstands audits and peer reviews. Maintain the current evidence map for your domains.
• Over 5 years of experience in security engineering, with direct responsibility for implementing controls across identity, network, cloud, endpoint, and/or monitoring domains.
• Strong foundational knowledge in IAM, network segmentation, encryption/key management, and centralized logging/monitoring.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP) in a security engineering role.
• Ability to create clear architecture documentation, runbooks, and decision records that are robust enough for audits and peer reviews.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of articulating trade-offs across Security, IT, and delivery audiences in straightforward language.
• Comfortable mentoring less experienced engineers and ensuring quality outcomes for one or more domains.
• Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance available from the first day of employment.
• Flexible Spending Account and Dependent Care Account options.
• 401k plan with Profit Sharing.
• More than 9 holidays and a discretionary time-off framework.
• Parental Leave – support for both primary and secondary caregivers.
• Tuition Assistance Program and CPA support program with financial incentives upon completion.
• Discretionary incentive compensation based on firm, group, and individual performance.
• Incentive compensation related to the origination of new client sales.
• Highly-rated wellness program.
• Flexible working arrangements, including remote and hybrid options.
