Senior Cyber Threat Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee written communications and provide negotiation assistance for ransomware and cyber extortion cases under the guidance of legal counsel.

• Create communication strategies and draft response texts.

• Keep meticulous records of negotiations, tracking demands, deadlines, concessions, proof-of-possession requests, and the behavior of actors involved.

• Review and enhance communications prepared by junior analysts.

• Conduct research, analysis, and monitoring of threat actors, extortion groups, malware families, campaigns, and emerging adversarial infrastructures.

• Connect communications, indicators, and intelligence to discern patterns in actor behavior, tactics, techniques, and procedures.

• Offer intelligence support for ongoing investigations and urgent situations.

• Maintain profiles of actors, negotiation notes, intelligence artifacts, and reference materials in authorized repositories.

• Mentor junior analysts and set consistent standards for negotiation support, documentation, and intelligence reporting.

• Enhance communication workflows, intelligence collection, validation, and dissemination processes.

• Work in collaboration with DFIR, legal, insurance, and client-facing teams.

• Contribute to both short-term and long-term strategic planning for the assigned organizational area.

• Write or make significant contributions to technical reports and documentation.

• Analyze intricate threat data and clearly present findings to a variety of audiences.

• Adhere to corporate policies and procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years' bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• At least 4 years of professional experience in cyber incident response, threat intelligence, negotiations, investigations, or similar analytical roles.

• Proven experience in leading communications with threat actors in ransomware or cyber extortion scenarios.

• Excellent writing and presentation abilities; capable of clear communication under pressure.

• Capacity to manage multiple complex issues simultaneously and respond to urgent requests promptly.

• Understanding of threat actor behavior, TTPs, malware families, and campaign activities.

• Experience utilizing open-source and commercial intelligence resources.
