This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Senior Credit Management and Approval Partner ensures a sustainable process for credit management and approvals within the Association, aligning with the Association's objectives, which include maintaining satisfactory credit quality and consistency in philosophy, training, and staff development.
• Conducts comprehensive analysis of previous approval requests related to large, complex corporate, agribusiness, and capital markets credits, verifying that all loan actions comply with established Association policies, procedures, and overall risk standards.
• Holds the responsibility for approving or denying loan actions, either through delegated authority or by recommending decisions to a higher authority (e.g., Loan Committee, CMA, or CCO).
• Mentors, coaches, and develops credit staff across the Association, ensuring that lending and loan quality standards and objectives are consistently met.
• Provides leadership and support to credit staff on complex problem credits.
• Actively participates in the development, establishment, and maintenance of the Association's credit policies and procedures.
• Reviews, approves, and monitors large and complex loans and associated actions, including participations bought and sold, to manage the overall credit risk of the Association's loan portfolio.
• Responsible for analyzing and reviewing credit packages submitted for prior approval, ensuring accuracy, compliance (with Association policies/procedures, FCA Regulations, etc.), and satisfactory overall Credit Administration.
• Recommends approval or denial of actions as a member of designated loan committees and approves specific actions through delegated authority.
• Proactively collaborates and coordinates with staff to provide assistance and support for large and complex loan originations.
• Develops and participates in training initiatives to ensure consistent credit training, mentoring, and development for both new and experienced credit staff throughout the Association.
• Plays a key role in establishing the Association's credit policies and procedures, ensuring that lending and loan quality goals are met and comply with FCA regulations, District, and Association policies.
• Ensures consistent implementation of procedures across the Association while balancing effective processes, sound lending practices, and appropriate internal controls.
• Monitors and facilitates the Association's Commodity Lending Guideline Committee process.
• Serves as a Co-Chair on specific Commodity Lending Guideline Committees.
• Aids in the department's oversight of the Association's loan monitoring systems, assisting the CMA department in coordinating with Risk Management and Internal Audit departments on internal credit reviews to assess credit quality, documentation, and adherence to all Association credit policies and procedures.
• Actively involved in the oversight and management of the Association's delinquent loan servicing and loan restructuring activities, collaborating with credit staff and legal counsel to address distressed loans.
• Completes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• BA/BS degree with a focus on business, economics, finance, agriculture, or a related field.
• A minimum of ten years of experience in agricultural-related credit, including proven experience in analyzing large and complex credits.
• Required competencies in credit underwriting, administration, and loan servicing, with a working knowledge of credit practices, production agriculture, credit principles and procedures; FCA regulations; and legal documentation requirements.
• Strong skills in organizing and planning, judgment, decisiveness, analysis, delegation and control, written and verbal communication, interpersonal relations, and adaptability.
• Proven ability to organize and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated capability in leading and motivating team members.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to utilize software and information technology to collect, organize, retrieve, maintain, and disseminate information.
• Proficient in using technology in new or complex situations.
