This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Cultivate a cooperative, high-performance team environment rooted in accountability, ongoing improvement, and a proactive approach.
• Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and execution of various vendor contracts, including technology services, cloud services, SaaS, data platforms, contractor agreements, marketing/creative services, leases, and payment processing contracts. Manage a significant volume of agreements with efficiency and sound judgment.
• Create, implement, and continuously enhance playbooks, contract templates, negotiation guides, and other initiatives that facilitate the team's efficient operation at scale. Identify challenges and develop solutions that decrease cycle time without compromising quality.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, financial partnerships, engineering, product management, finance, information security, privacy, and other teams to offer clear, practical guidance.
• Act as a proactive, strategic business partner to senior management throughout the organization.
• Design and provide training and resources that empower business partners to independently address routine vendor legal issues, enhancing team capacity and alleviating bottlenecks.
• Juris Doctor (JD) and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Over 8 years of relevant transactional experience either in-house at a technology firm or within a technology practice group at a prestigious law firm.
• A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in people management, including hiring, developing, and managing the performance of attorneys or legal professionals.
• Outstanding drafting capabilities.
• Background in fintech, payments, or the financial services sector.
• Experience managing global or multi-jurisdictional transactions (e.g., Canada, US, UK/EU, Australia).
• Strong understanding of data protection and privacy regulations such as CCPA, GDPR, APPs, PIPEDA, and GLBA.
• Proven track record of managing a high deal volume while ensuring quality, consistency, and attention to detail.
• History of developing or enhancing legal processes, playbooks, templates, or other operational tools in a rapidly growing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex legal and commercial matters into clear, understandable language.
• Collaborative approach, with experience guiding cross-functional teams toward practical, mutually beneficial solutions.
• Intellectual curiosity and innovative problem-solving capabilities: adept at quickly understanding new products and business models and enjoying the challenge of finding solutions to unique issues.
• Self-motivated, proactive mentality with a focus on action.
• Strong judgment, with the ability to make timely, pragmatic, and business-oriented decisions in uncertain situations with incomplete information.
