Senior Counsel, Trading

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer strategic legal counsel for Anchorage Digital’s OTC principal trading division.

• Oversee spot, margin, derivatives, and API trading operations.

• Serve as a reliable authority on money transmission regulations, state lending laws, CFTC derivatives regulations, and SEC securities statutes.

• Create and evaluate compliance manuals, policies, procedures, disclosures, and risk assessments related to trading and lending operations.

• Analyze, draft, and negotiate trading, lending, and derivative agreements, including USDAs, Master Lending Agreements, Master Purchase and Sale Agreements, and Prime Brokerage contracts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Highly organized with a proactive approach, exceptional attention to detail, and the capability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

• Possess an understanding of the regulatory frameworks, both current and proposed, relevant to various digital asset business models.

• Ability to apply traditional financial legal principles to the digital asset sector to address the complex business needs of institutional clients.

• Transactional experience in reviewing diverse financial transaction agreements, particularly lending agreements, prime brokerage agreements, ISDA/CSA, and trade confirmations.

• Experience in a fast-paced startup or early-stage company - a highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative, demonstrates a positive attitude, and is willing to tackle any task, regardless of size.

• Capacity to think innovatively and propose practical and commercial solutions.

• Active membership in the state bar.
