Senior Cost Estimator – EV Construction Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Serve as the main point of contact for commercial interactions with the client throughout the design and construction phases.

• Deliver cost planning, estimating, and forecasting services, which include creating and presenting cost plans at critical design and construction milestones.

• Develop and uphold effective cost control, change management, and commercial governance procedures.

• Assess, review, negotiate, and oversee change orders during the entire construction lifecycle.

• Analyze contractor and subcontractor pricing for precision, entitlement, and value, leading negotiations on behalf of the client when necessary.

• Oversee contingency management, commitment tracking, cost-to-complete forecasting, and cost variance analysis.

• Conduct post-contract quantity surveying, cost control, valuations, and payment certifications.

• Execute accurate interim valuations, cost assessments, and commercial audits for medium to large construction projects.

• Partner with owners, project managers, design teams, and contractors to assist in cost development and design advancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field in construction.

• 5–7+ years of pertinent experience in a cost management or quantity surveying position within the construction sector.

• Familiarity with estimating in the New York market.

• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, valuations, change control, and final account procedures.

• Experience in construction consultancy or client-side cost management is highly desirable.

• RICS accreditation or progress toward chartership is preferred.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
