This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +25 more states.
• Develop, implement, and sustain processes for efficient cost management protocols.
• Provide guidance and support to the central Real Estate team as a Cost Estimator for internal construction initiatives globally.
• Assist Project Managers in establishing realistic construction project budgets that reflect project specifications, procurement strategies, contract types, regional building codes, and market conditions.
• Identify major cost risks and create mitigation strategies in collaboration with project teams.
• Deliver cost estimates from the preliminary to detailed phases of the project life cycle.
• Assess the effectiveness of cost control measures implemented by project teams during execution.
• Review cost forecasts and reports to ensure adherence to budget and cash-out plans.
• Leverage expertise in cost- and time-efficient construction techniques to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Assist Project Managers with value engineering, pricing, and negotiation of claims with General Contractors.
• Work closely with Project Managers to facilitate project success and achieve client growth objectives.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a focus on construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in Cost Estimating and Management, including both pre-contract and post-contract phases.
• Specialized knowledge of standard cost benchmarks for industrial facilities, such as manufacturing, testing, R&D facilities, warehouses, and offices.
• Understanding of relevant cost-influencing factors.
• Ability to critically evaluate and challenge cost plans for quality and precision prior to management approval.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable contract types, including pre-construction project partnering, Design-Bid-Build, Design & Build, Open Book/cost plus fees, and BTS-Lease.
• International experience in industrial construction projects.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with digital design methodologies such as BIM and cost databases.
• Organized and structured work approach with a self-starter attitude.
• Expertise in RIB iTwo, CostX, or comparable tools is required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
