Senior Cost Estimator – Commercial Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive and precise cost estimates for commercial construction projects to fulfill the requirements and deadlines of clients and internal stakeholders.

• Build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other professionals in the industry to secure advantageous terms.

• Follow up and effectively communicate estimates via phone and email.

• Assist in tender submissions and support pre-construction planning efforts.

• Analyze and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation to create detailed, accurate, and timely project cost plans and estimates.

• Collaborate closely with design teams to understand and influence the design strategy from the outset, ensuring the adoption of the most cost-effective solutions.

• Prepare and submit tenders, including bills of quantities and procurement schedules, detailing the materials needed for project costings.

• Participate in tender interviews and address any questions related to the submission.

• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers for obtaining quotations and offers.

• Manage multiple quoting tasks effectively and prioritize time accordingly.

• Review and analyze tenancy fitout guidelines and documentation specific to each project.

• Conduct thorough risk analyses for potential projects, taking into account all factors influencing costs.

• Regularly update the database with the latest pricing and details of suppliers and subcontractors.

• Monitor market trends, material costs, labor rates, and other variables that may impact project costs.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in estimating within the design and construction industry, with a focus on office fitouts.

• Experience in estimating during both preliminary and final phases of design and construction projects.

• Strong negotiation abilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of the buildability of projects and the capability to create value-engineered solutions.

• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Detail-oriented, capable of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines.

• Outstanding communication skills with subcontractors, staff, and clients.
