This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Compose and refine intricate, sensitive, and routine letters, emails, and memoranda on behalf of OPO executive leadership.
• Generate formal replies to inquiries from congressional committees, Members of Congress, the GAO, and other oversight bodies.
• Create briefing materials for agency officials at the executive level in response to information requests from media, press organizations, and various stakeholders.
• Assess and prioritize incoming correspondence to ensure urgent matters are promptly addressed by OPO executives.
• Assist in establishing standard operating procedures and tracking systems to ensure timely responses.
• Ensure consistent and accurate communication across all channels in accordance with Departmental guidelines.
• Verify and proofread all deliverables for grammatical precision.
• Produce and deliver correspondence, memoranda, and briefing materials, typically within two business days of a request.
• Maintain the Weekly Communication Log and the Monthly Performance Report.
• Contribute to the Correspondence Template Library.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Four (4) years of proven experience in drafting executive-level correspondence.
• US Citizenship.
• Outstanding editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills, supported by a portfolio of error-free work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
• Capability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a high-volume setting.
• Eligibility to obtain a favorable DHS background suitability determination for a Public Trust position.
• Experience in communication with or consultation for executive-level officials within the federal government, congressional entities, or the GAO.
• Previous experience in a Public Trust position.
• Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards for electronic documents.
