• Lead the design and IP planning of GFiber’s peering, caching, and transit infrastructure. Focus on optimizing traffic engineering, IX/Transit/CDN integrations, and capacity planning to achieve optimal latency and cost-efficiency at the edge.
• Collaborate with software teams and the Network Reliability Engineering team to design and develop the GFiber automation stack, promoting low and zero-touch operations as well as rapid configuration deployments across both core and edge environments.
• Establish and refine standards for network observability and health, integrating telemetry, fault management, and incident data to generate actionable insights and implement auto-remediation strategies.
• Act as the Tier-3 escalation point for complex routing issues, convergence, or large-scale DDoS incidents, participating in root cause analysis and suggesting remediation workflows to prevent future occurrences.
• Work alongside Product and Software teams to facilitate advanced service offerings (e.g., L2/L3 VPNs, DIA) and influence vendor roadmaps to ensure alignment with GFiber’s business objectives.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 7 years in service provider network design and operations, with a focus on high-availability core environments.
• Proficiency in IP/MPLS protocols including BGP (v4/v6), IS-IS/OSPF, Segment Routing (SR-MPLS/SRv6), RSVP-TE, and EVPN, as well as experience with network troubleshooting and packet-level analysis tools (NetFlow, SNMP, Wireshark, TCPdump) and multi-vendor platforms (e.g., Juniper, Nokia, Arista, or Cisco).
• Experience in automation and scripting for device configuration and validation using languages such as Python, Go, Ansible, or Netconf/YANG.
• Background in incident management, telemetry design, and maintaining high-availability systems in a large network production environment.
• Preferred qualifications include:
• Experience in building end-to-end automation workflows and event-driven automation concepts.
• Familiarity with implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles in a network context, including SLO/SLA definition and error budget management.
• Exposure to modern telemetry stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or custom alerting systems.
