
Senior Controller – General Ledger Shared Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the record-to-report process for around 100 Network Companies.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes related to general ledger duties.
• Lead and collaborate with MFP Industry Controllers.
• Develop and uphold training and standards for GL functions.
• Create a scalable, SOX-compliant GL shared services team.
• Oversee a hybrid team consisting of onshore and Colombia-based offshore members, expanding to 10–15 personnel by 2027.
• Integrate newly acquired companies into standardized processes and systems.
• Review and authorize journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis.
• Prepare or assist with complex entries, reconciliations, and technical accounting memos.
• Supervise balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue, tax entries, inventory adjustments, and year-end audit workpapers.
• Ensure that trial balances, variance analysis, and close checklists are accurately uploaded to OneStream in a timely manner.
• Maintain the chart of accounts standards and authorize new account requests.
• Manage the GL control matrix, process narratives, and flowcharts.
• Enforce segregation of duties, journal entry approval thresholds, and reconciliation sign-offs.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit and external auditors on walkthroughs, testing, audit requests, and remediation activities.
• Mentor and develop Senior and General Ledger team members.
• Define offshore work distribution, standard work instructions, review points, and quality metrics.
• Establish team structure, staffing mix, and hiring strategies.
• Set objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and create development pathways.
• Lead the GL workstream for onboarding new Network Companies.
• Enhance the integration playbook following each onboarding phase.
• Serve as the R2R liaison for OneStream and ERP processes.
• Represent R2R in ERP and systems initiatives, encompassing requirements, design, UAT, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Identify and implement automation for reconciliations, recurring entries, and standardized templates.
• Support change management, stakeholder communications, training, documentation, and adoption tracking.
• Develop and uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and provide monthly reports on close KPIs.
• Address requests from the CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, and Shared Services leadership, while escalating risks as necessary.
• Active, unrestricted CPA license in good standing.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Over 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
• At least 4 years of experience directly leading a GL or R2R function within a shared services center that supports multiple entities or business units.
• Practical experience with OneStream, Oracle Hyperion/HFM, or another comparable CPM tool in a closing, consolidation, or reporting capacity.
• Experience in a public company setting with SOX 404, including the design, documentation, operation, and remediation of R2R controls, and direct interaction with external auditors.
• Proven track record in managing offshore or outsourced accounting teams, including work transition, quality review, and coordination across time zones.
• Experience with at least two acquisition integrations involving chart of accounts mapping, opening balances, data conversion, and first close activities.
• Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and knowledge of staffing models and scaling teams in a shared services environment.
• Proven leadership in managing major process or system changes.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP related to accruals, fixed assets, leases (ASC 842), revenue (ASC 606), and business combinations (ASC 805).
• Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort in handling large, multi-entity data sets.
• Work location is limited to the continental U.S.; employment from international locations is not permitted.
