This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the complete development and execution of contracts related to complex procurement initiatives.
• Negotiate commercial terms, conditions, pricing models, payment schedules, liabilities, warranties, insurance requirements, and the allocation of contractual risks independently.
• Analyze, interpret, and negotiate contract terms and exceptions proposed by suppliers.
• Identify contractual risks and propose strategies for mitigation.
• Collaborate with legal teams as necessary to address complex contractual challenges.
• Independently create and manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and competitive procurement processes.
• Formulate sourcing strategies, bid packages, evaluation criteria, and commercial evaluation frameworks.
• Manage supplier communications, clarification procedures, evaluations, and summary recommendations.
• Lead recommendations for contract awards and assist in obtaining stakeholder approvals.
• Simultaneously oversee multiple active contracts and procurement initiatives.
• Maintain records of contract documentation, approvals, amendments, and change management.
• Track contract performance, compliance, milestones, and deliverables.
• Support activities related to contract renewals, extensions, claims, disputes, and closures.
• Serve as the primary contact for contracts related to assigned business areas and projects.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, operations, finance, and suppliers.
• Offer commercial guidance and contracting expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
• Cultivate strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Manage a portfolio of approximately 15–30 active contract activities at different stages of development and execution.
• Prioritize competing deadlines while ensuring quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Provide regular updates on contract activities, risks, and upcoming milestones.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in contract, procurement, or commercial management.
• Demonstrated proficiency in negotiating terms and conditions, pricing, scope, and risk allocation.
• Proven capability to manage the entire RFP lifecycle from development to contract award.
• Experience in handling operational contracts, including maintenance, consulting, services, goods, and master service agreements.
• Ability to independently oversee 15–30 concurrent contract activities.
• Background in collaborating with operations, maintenance teams, suppliers, and a variety of business stakeholders.
• Strong skills in negotiation, communication, organization, and problem-solving.
• Capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Preferred experience in mining, energy, industrial operations, or large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with contract risk management, legal reviews, and contract management systems is preferred.
• SCMP, CIPS, CPCM, or equivalent certification is considered an asset.
