This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the management of contracts for designated U.S. Government hydroelectric projects from the preparation of bids through to execution, close-out, and warranty.
• Safeguard the company's contractual and commercial interests through effective contract administration, documentation, and management of changes.
• Develop project-specific contract strategies that balance risk mitigation, compliance, and business goals.
• Proactively oversee contractual obligations, notices, flow-down requirements, and entitlement positions.
• Draft, review, and customize commercial and contractual clauses.
• Negotiate and finalize proposals, contracts, amendments, and other contractual documents with customers, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Provide guidance to project teams regarding contractual obligations, rights, remedies, and execution requirements.
• Interpret and enforce U.S. Government contract requirements, including FAR and agency-specific clauses.
• Identify risks related to contractual compliance in federal project execution and subcontracting arrangements.
• Prepare, review, and manage representations, certifications, amendments, and contractual deliverables.
• Analyze contracts for risks, opportunities, deviations, assumptions, and commercial considerations.
• Create and enhance contract management plans.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and commercial leadership.
• Prepare and oversee notices, change documentation, amendments, requests for equitable adjustment, claims, and contractual submissions.
• Identify, document, and maintain entitlement positions.
• Support strategies related to delays, disruptions, variations, scope changes, and performance impacts.
• Coordinate significant claims and disputes with Legal and internal stakeholders.
• Manage contractual matters related to bonds and insurance.
• Assess and convey prime contract obligations and regulatory clauses to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist with subcontracting strategies and key contractual terms.
• Review the structures of subcontract and supplier contracts.
• Maintain records of contracts, correspondence logs, notice trackers, obligation trackers, and claim files.
• Assist with compliance, audit readiness, internal reviews, audits, and management reporting.
• Establish commercial procedures for correspondence, notifications, delays, variations, insurance, and claims documentation.
• Act as the primary contract management lead and provide strategic direction to project leadership.
• Cultivate relationships with customers, partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage and evaluate incoming and outgoing correspondence to ensure reliable archiving and traceability.
• Promptly escalate significant contractual issues.
• Lead intricate contractual negotiations and resolve issues within a matrix environment.
• Mentor less experienced contract management professionals and advocate for disciplined contract management practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Business, Finance, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 10 years of proven experience in contract management within complex project environments such as Energy, EPC, Construction, Infrastructure, or large industrial projects.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting USG contracts, government-funded programs, or projects governed by federal contractual frameworks.
• Strong working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Familiarity with agency-specific clauses and additional federal contracting obligations.
• Capability to compile, structure, draft, substantiate, and negotiate complex, high-value amendments, changes, and contractual submissions in accordance with USG standards and requirements.
• Solid understanding of project financial aspects, including costs, margins, risks, opportunities, and commercial exposure, and their relation to contract management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in analyzing, structuring, substantiating, and resolving complex contractual and commercial challenges.
• Proactive mindset, strong ownership, sound judgment, and a desire to drive improvements.
• If necessary, the ability to meet applicable USG security clearance, compliance, or eligibility requirements.
• Familiarity with export control, documentation discipline, and regulated project environments is advantageous where applicable.
• Willingness to travel to project sites, customer meetings, and internal project reviews as needed.
• Travel requirement: approximately 15-25% depending on project and customer needs.
• Strong and proven experience in turnkey (EPC) or similarly complex project delivery models.
• Experience in hydropower, renewable energy, large infrastructure, or industrial project environments.
• Proficient in negotiating effectively with internal and external stakeholders in complex, high-value project settings.
• Sound judgment regarding contractual and commercial risks, with the ability to anticipate, assess, and proactively mitigate potential issues.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Experience working within a complex matrix organization.
• Ability to influence project teams and business stakeholders without direct authority.
