This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead the negotiation, drafting, execution, and renewal of OCC service agreements with GOP clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Ensure that all contract activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations (NERC, FERC, ISO/RTO), and company policies, especially concerning grid operations and critical infrastructure.
• Act as the primary liaison for contract-related communications between the OCC, GOP clients, and internal departments (legal, regulatory, operations, compliance).
• Identify contractual and operational risks; provide guidance to stakeholders on mitigation strategies to maintain the reliability and continuity of OCC operations.
• Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and track contract performance, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), reporting requirements, and deliverables to GOPs and other stakeholders.
• Lead initiatives to resolve disputes or claims related to contractual obligations, working alongside legal and external counsel as necessary.
• Oversee and document change order processes, amendments, and contract modifications arising from changes in operational needs or regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to guarantee that contract processes meet regulatory standards, with an emphasis on NERC CIP and reliability criteria.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance contract management processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• JD or Master’s degree is preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience in contract management, ideally within large-scale utility, energy generation, or grid operations projects.
• Significant experience working with GOPs, ISOs/RTOs, or OCCs is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy operations, NERC/FERC compliance, OCC functions, and energy market frameworks.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States of America; this position does not qualify for visa sponsorship.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in contract management systems is required.
• Capability to interpret complex legal and technical documents.
• Experience in project management and cross-functional leadership.
• Certification as a Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), or an equivalent credential is preferred.
