Senior Consultant – M365 Tenant to Tenant Migration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Daily Migration Execution: Serve as the primary technical authority for daily migration processes, coordinating team activities and proactively addressing challenges. Elevate significant decisions to the Migration Architect when necessary.

• Discovery & Evaluation: Conduct technical discovery on both source and target tenants (utilizing questionnaires and scripts). Document insights to facilitate the Gap Analysis and migration planning.

• Migration Readiness: Set up and validate migration tools (notably Quest On Demand Migration), preparing necessary accounts, permissions, and Entra ID Stage users/groups while adjusting settings (mail routing, policies) for migration readiness.

• Execute M365 Migrations: Manage and oversee migrations for Exchange Online mailboxes, OneDrive/SharePoint Online content, Teams (channels, chats, teams), and associated applications according to the runbook. Independently troubleshoot and resolve issues (e.g., permission errors, sync failures), ensuring data integrity and timely advancement.

• Cutover & Post-Migration Support: Direct cutover events (domain/DNS changes, final syncs, validations) to effectively transition users and services. Offer post-migration support by addressing user issues and stabilizing the environment.

• Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Migration Architect, OCM leads, and device teams to align technical actions with user communications, training, and any Intune device updates. Provide mentorship to junior engineers and keep stakeholders updated on progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure/cloud roles with substantial hands-on M365 migration experience (including tenant-to-tenant projects).

• Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams) and Entra ID identity management for migration purposes.

• Expertise in migration tools (particularly Quest On Demand Migration) and PowerShell scripting for task automation and issue resolution.

• Networking knowledge such as DNS, Firewall, etc.

• Leadership and problem-solving abilities – capable of guiding a technical team, making swift decisions regarding migration challenges, and adhering to plans.

• Exceptional communication skills – able to articulate technical processes clearly to clients and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
