• Oversees all facets of project execution, ensuring a seamless transition from the design stage to the installation and ongoing service and support phase of the completed project.
• Provides advice and support to the Engineer in estimating and managing the account.
• Collaborates with engineering personnel to obtain technical information.
• Procures and supervises external contractors.
• Organizes project phases and trains customer maintenance personnel.
• Manages all financial aspects of the project, including change management, revenue forecasts, customer invoicing, and quarterly updates.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for all internal staff, external contractors, subcontractors, and customer representatives to coordinate all facets of project installation.
• Ensures that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and that customers are satisfied with both the installation process and the final outcome.
• Responsible for overseeing other field-assigned employees.
• Develops and maintains ongoing communication with the customer to schedule and coordinate all work performed, ensuring clear and consistent updates on project progress, costs, and training.
• Assists engineers in obtaining quotes from external mechanical, electrical, and construction contractors and vendors; selects the appropriate contractors and vendors for each project, issues contracts, and schedules and oversees all contractor and subcontractor work, ensuring timely arrival of all project equipment and supplies.
• Reviews the Project Metrics report with the project accountant, which includes contract value, percentage of completion, billings, contingency, and margin; flags items that require action, such as under billings exceeding 5% and margin deviations greater than 3%.
• Monitors labor, materials, project modifications, and work completion, making adjustments as necessary to ensure achievement of project goals within cost and time constraints.
• Ensures compliance with all OSHA, Federal, State, and safety regulations, as well as all ESG policies and procedures.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in engineering or construction management.
• At least seven (7) years of engineering and construction-related experience in managing construction projects.
• Experience in central heating and cooling plant buildout is essential, with a preference for experience in the department of corrections, although central plant experience is prioritized.
• Minimum construction-related qualifications include:
• Familiarity with project development.
• Experience in working with and directing project teams.
• Proven experience in developing schedules.
• Proficiency in managing project budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully oversee projects from development through to closure.
• Proven track record of managing project budgets and schedules, accurately documenting projects, and working effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction on every job.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally and ethically with customers.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, Federal, and State safety regulations.
• Ability to effectively present information and address inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Skills in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Capacity to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in both mathematical and diagrammatic forms, and to manage several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to assist employees in comprehending project objectives and specifications while considering multiple perspectives on issues.
• Preferred qualifications include:
• Ten (10) years of experience in engineering and construction-related project management.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation.
• Designation from the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA).
