• Offer leadership and strategic direction regarding construction policies, vendor partnerships, accountability, training, and employee development, as well as relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee project and group predictability and profitability.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Construction Management to implement optimal construction management practices, policies, and tools.
• Travel as necessary to support various projects and initiatives.
• Manage the daily operations of construction projects.
• Provide guidance and project leadership for ground-up construction, remodels, renovations, etc., ensuring that projects meet or surpass company expectations.
• Organize and lead cross-functional workgroups, including design, procurement, operations, IT/Network, and finance, as needed to realize construction management best practices.
• Supervise as many as 25+ external vendors per project, which may include General Contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, and more.
• Implement company and departmental processes along with best management practices within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Ensure effective contract administration, including the creation, review, management, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other relevant documents.
• Guarantee that internal controls are established at every step of the process.
• Inspect ongoing work to verify that it meets or exceeds quality, specification, and schedule requirements.
• Foster strong working relationships with internal and external team members, including staff, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and other industry professionals.
• Pursue personal growth through training, professional development, and career advancement opportunities.
• Offer subject-matter expertise in assigned areas of responsibility.
• Report status updates, successes, challenges, and proposed action plans to the management team and company in a timely manner.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in effectively managing commercial construction projects or programs.
• Strong understanding of building construction and project management processes and procedures on a national scale.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in designing data centers across various geographies in North America.
• Capability to analyze and evaluate construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Proficiency in CPM scheduling methods, construction cost estimating, proposal generation and development, document management, and contract administration.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and other industry-specific software applications.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, written and verbal presentation skills, and team-building abilities demonstrated across multiple international regions.
• Proven success in building and leading teams of construction professionals at various levels of development within multiple international regions.
• Outstanding leadership and management skills, as well as exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical capabilities validated in various international contexts.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and collaborate with a team on projects in a very fast-paced and demanding environment.
