
Senior Construction Defect Claims Specialist – CGL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Overseeing a portfolio of intricate construction defect claims from initiation to resolution.
• Evaluating CGL coverage, endorsements, exclusions, and contractual risk transfer.
• Managing multi-party and litigated issues with a strategic, resolution-oriented approach.
• Establishing and modifying reserves based on exposure assessments and litigation status.
• Choosing and overseeing defense attorneys and expert vendors.
• Engaging in mediations and settlement talks within authorized limits.
• Drafting comprehensive coverage analyses and recommendations when elevated authority is necessary.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities for subrogation or contribution.
• Collaborating with underwriting, legal teams, and management on emerging exposure patterns.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial general liability claims.
• Strong expertise in construction defect claims, including litigated and multi-party cases.
• Proven experience in handling construction defect claims in California.
• In-depth knowledge of CGL coverage interpretation and risk transfer evaluation.
• Experience collaborating with defense attorneys and participating in mediation sessions.
• Excellent technical writing and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to independently manage a complex caseload.
• Active adjuster license (or the capability to obtain one if required).
