This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the community blueprint. In collaboration with your manager, you will help establish the foundation of Proton's community ecosystem and oversee the execution of the programs assigned to you.
• Assist in the development of the Proton Community Hub, which serves as Proton’s dedicated space for discussion, feedback, education, and connection.
• Contribute to the creation of systems, frameworks, and rituals that enhance belonging and participation, helping to establish standards and best practices adopted by the broader team.
• Define and manage the daily processes for how members join, contribute, receive recognition, and remain engaged.
• Lead and expand Proton's ambassador program. You will innovate the next iteration of Proton’s ambassador experience:
• Create ambassador journeys, contribution pathways, rewards, and governance, making independent trade-off decisions within your area of responsibility.
• Find, onboard, activate, and support ambassadors who passionately represent Proton both online and in real life.
• Collaborate with marketing, social media, and product teams to connect ambassadors with brand and product initiatives.
• Cultivate micro-communities across various platforms: You will oversee Proton’s presence in established community spaces:
• Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Matrix, LinkedIn groups, and emerging platforms.
• Encourage genuine conversations, establish rituals, and create touchpoints that feel personal.
• Recognize community needs early and serve as the bridge between users and internal teams.
• Help safeguard the health and safety of Proton's brand reputation. You will play a role in protecting the integrity of the Proton brand and community:
• Monitor sentiment, assist in crisis response under team-level coordination, and help ensure brand safety.
• Support the maintenance of policies, moderation standards, and community guidelines.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to transform community insights into actionable roadmap input.
• Mentor others and contribute to team standards. Share your expertise with junior team members and help shape the practices of the Social & Community team.
• 5+ years of experience in community management, ambassador programs, or developer relations.
• Demonstrated communication and copywriting skills.
• Practical experience in contributing to community hubs or ambassador programs.
• Experience in facilitating user communities or event-driven community activations.
• Excellent communication abilities; capable of motivating and engaging groups.
• Comfortable managing end-to-end programs independently within a team's framework, while closely collaborating with a manager on broader strategies.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions through trade-off analysis.
• Residing in the US and familiar with US online culture.
