Senior Commissioning Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Play a pivotal role on-site in the implementation of BESS projects, from mechanical completion to the initiation of commercial operations.

• Execute tasks assigned by the commissioning manager and engineer, which may include visual inspections, electrical fault finding, and more.

• Conduct daily routine activities such as executing commissioning test sheets, documenting and resolving issues, and assisting in monitoring the progress of project commissioning tasks.

• Aid in the commissioning of the overall control system by verifying network connectivity of all field devices and performing point-to-point tests.

• Deliver on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support.

• Supervise subcontractors on-site as necessary.

• Assist in formulating standard operating procedures based on lessons learned during on-site activities.

• Help complete testing documentation and prepare test reports promptly.

• Support training for clients and their O&M contractors.

• Comply with all health and safety regulations and policies.

• Attend and occasionally lead Plan of Day (POD) meetings.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 100% of the time is required.

• Occasional international support may be advantageous.

• Flexibility to work outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends, is occasionally required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum NVQ/SVQ (or equivalent) level 3 in an electrical discipline.

• HNC is preferred.

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in an installation, commissioning, or service environment.

• Previous experience or training in the renewables sector is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of High Voltage and/or SCADA systems is beneficial.

• Experience with HVAC/Liquid Chillers systems is preferred.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently, demonstrating strong practical problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective engagement with internal teams and contractors.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is required, with experience in Smartsheets and Autodesk Construction Cloud being advantageous.

• Candidates must hold a valid driving license and passport.
