Senior Commercial Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Responsible for selecting, cultivating, and managing a profitable portfolio within an assigned high-volume territory.

• Assesses complex accounts for risk evaluation and pricing considerations.

• Analyzes exposure, company and branch risk tolerance, account premiums, and loss history.

• Provides suitable coverage options for various exposures.

• Ensures proper documentation is maintained for all accounts.

• Builds and nurtures relationships with agencies.

• Educates agents regarding EMC products, underwriting guidelines, systems, and services.

• Visits agencies to review accounts and keep agents informed of updates.

• Acts as a mentor to less experienced underwriters.

• Addresses inquiries and offers recommendations for complex scenarios.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree, ideally in insurance or business administration.

• A minimum of five years' experience in commercial lines underwriting.

• Preferred insurance designations, such as CPCU.

• Comprehensive knowledge of underwriting processes and risk assessment.

• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and capable of making informed decisions.

• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and social media platforms.

• Capable of managing multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to groups.

• Preferred strong presentation skills.
