
Senior Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversees and manages a portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring asset quality, compliance, and maintaining strong client relationships by collaborating closely with Commercial Loan Officers and Credit Officers.
• Prepares precise and timely financial statement spreads.
• Underwrites new commercial loans and line renewals; evaluates financial statements, tax returns, cash flows, and industry data for C&I, CRE, and SBA loans.
• Aids in structuring new credit requests in accordance with policy: formulates appropriate loan terms, covenants, and pricing.
• Conducts an annual assessment of relationships within the portfolio.
• Monitors portfolio delinquency and assists commercial lenders in reaching out to existing clients for payments that are up to 30 days past due.
• Responsible for monitoring, creating, and updating necessary financial reporting.
• Evaluates existing credit relationships and assigns/affirms/requests the appropriate risk rating based on the risk assessment concluded through the analysis process.
• Coordinates the approval process with the Credit department and presents to the approval committee in the absence of the Loan officer.
• Reviews and edits commitment letters to ensure alignment between commitment letters and approvals.
• Leads portfolio management meetings with Lenders and lending assistants at least monthly or as required.
• Remains well-informed about current economic market trends to offer timely and relevant insights.
• Takes on additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/work experience.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in analyzing personal and business financial statements and tax returns.
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Progressive level of lending experience required.
• Attendance at seminars/schools mandated by management.
