Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, accept, reject, or modify proposals submitted by producers for commercial line coverage.

• Assess risks to ensure adherence to underwriting regulations and company philosophy.

• Analyze information received concerning risks.

• Suggest risk enhancements as applicable.

• Provide training and education for agency personnel on company products and procedures.

• Oversee portfolio management to maintain a balanced mix of accounts and profitability.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial insurance.

• Familiarity with insurance regulations pertaining to commercial underwriting.

• Background in a commercial underwriting environment.

• Experience with inspection methods related to commercial insurance.

• Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as fractions, ratios, statistics, and probabilities.

• Knowledge of commercial insurance contracts and documentation.

• Acquaintance with ISO or similar bureau rating systems.
