This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Generate precise and competitively priced cost estimates by examining project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Create comprehensive quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment requirements.
• Oversee the entire tender process from initial inquiry to final submission.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure optimal value.
• Prepare and distribute subcontractor inquiries while managing tender questions throughout the estimating phase.
• Recognize commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions within tender proposals.
• Organize and maintain project documentation utilizing SharePoint and company systems.
• Collaborate closely with the Directors during the pre-construction phase to produce high-quality estimates and secure new business opportunities.
• Attend internal meetings and, when necessary, engage in client meetings in a professional and confident manner.
• Handle multiple active tenders while supporting ongoing construction projects.
• Contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of estimating processes, systems, and best practices.
• Keep accurate records of suppliers, subcontractors, and cost databases.
• Ensure all estimating documentation is well-organized, precise, and completed within set milestones and deadlines.
• Stay updated on industry advancements, commercial trends, and emerging estimating technologies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Commercial Estimator, with additional experience viewed favorably.
• Essential prior experience working for a Principal Contractor on commercial construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience in pricing commercial projects ranging from approximately £250,000 to £1.5 million.
• Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and manage multiple tenders at once.
• Strong grasp of construction estimating principles, tendering processes, and commercial awareness.
• Capability to accurately interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, along with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled workflows in GHL is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Understanding standard forms of construction contracts would be beneficial.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage in both internal and occasional client meetings.
