Senior COBOL Mainframe Developer – Banking, Card Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and maintain COBOL/JCL programs for payment platforms and card processing;

• Engage in the analysis and resolution of incidents in batch cycles (EOD/SOD) and online transactional flows via CICS;

• Implement and manage Brazilian regulatory flows such as Pix, TED, DOC, and SPB integrated with the card platform;

• Create and execute automated testing scripts for releases and regulatory changes;

• Support settlement and reconciliation processes with Visa, Mastercard, Elo, and other acquirers;

• Document technical specifications, data flows, and processing maps;

• Collaborate with Product, Business, and Compliance departments to comply with BACEN and LGPD regulations;

• Participate in system upgrade projects, portfolio conversion, and onboarding of new clients;

• Lead SIT and UAT testing to ensure stability and quality of deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid experience with COBOL;

• Strong knowledge of JCL;

• Experience with CICS;

• Background in a Mainframe environment;

• Understanding of the banking sector, particularly in card processing platforms;

• Experience with batch and transactional processing;

• Familiarity with Brazilian payment methods (Pix, TED, DOC, SPB);

• Experience in integrated testing and validations;

• Analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving critical incidents;

• Knowledge of settlement and financial reconciliation processes;

• Experience with Visa, Mastercard, and Elo;

• Background in financial institutions or card processing companies;

• Understanding of LGPD and BACEN regulations;

• Experience in test automation;

• Participation in migration or modernization projects for legacy platforms;

• Experience in critical financial integrations with high transaction volumes.
