Senior CloudOps Engineer – Databases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and serve as the primary contributor for the PostgreSQL stack.

• Oversee the maintenance and upgrades of database infrastructure.

• Manage the infrastructure for the Wrike product.

• Implement dependable solutions to achieve a 99.9% product uptime SLA.

• Utilize GCP, AWS, and other cloud providers while adhering to the IaC paradigm.

• Introduce and provide support for new infrastructure services.

• Engage in incident response and management, which includes on-call responsibilities.

• Cultivate and sustain professional relationships both within and outside the team.

• Participate in high-level technical projects, including the development of an internal PostgreSQL-based database management system.

• Collaborate on command and control systems as part of an international team.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, MVCC, database sharding, WAL, and VACUUM processing.

• Strong skills in writing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries.

• Familiarity with Kafka and RabbitMQ messaging systems.

• Experience with Kubernetes and ArgoCD in service-oriented architecture.

• Proficiency with Nginx, HAProxy, and Istio for load balancing purposes.

• Experience with GCP, AWS, and Cloudflare platforms.

• Knowledge of Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform for infrastructure as code.

• Proficient in Python for automation tasks.

• Familiarity with Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics and Zabbix for monitoring.

• Experience with Graylog, Logstash, and Fluentd for logging.

• Experience with Jenkins and GitLab CI pipelines.

• Upper-intermediate English language skills.

• Extensive hands-on experience in supporting and optimizing observability stacks.

• Intermediate understanding of data networks, security, databases, cloud providers, process automation, and Kubernetes.

• Advanced experience in cloud provider management utilizing IaC, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Advanced skills in Linux administration, with experience in maintaining highly available infrastructure for web application stacks.
